Authentic Places
320 kilometers from Tbilisi and just 50 kilometers from Kutaisi, in the village of Inchkhuri, 210 meters above sea level, is located one of the most popular natural monuments, the Martvili Canyons. Pure waters of the river Abasha, colorful fish that you can see from everywhere, unearthly shapes of limestone cliffs carved out by flowing waters of the river, greenery all around, small and big cascades, water noise everywhere, and the summer heat mixed with a fresh breeze coming from the canyons—all of this together is Martvili Canyons. The Dadiani royal family from Samegrelo Dukedom had their summer vacation place in Martvili. They made a trail with a staircase out of limestone blocks that still remains unchanged, and you can use this staircase during your visit to Martvili Canyons.
A ticket to the Martvili Canyon costs 17.5 gel for an adult. The main circular trail is 700 meters long and has two bridges and three overlooking platforms. There is also a boat ride available at Martvili Canyons, but for that you need to pay an additional 15 gel.
See you at Matvili.
