Transfer to the Kartli region will take an hour. The first stop will be the famous cave town of Uplistsikhe (XVI c. B.C.). Here, you can see and feel the history. The next stop is the administrative center of the Kartli region, Gori, the town where Joseph Stalin was born. According to your wish, you’ll visit his museum, his train, and the house where he spent the early years of his life. Learn more about the Soviet Union and its dictator. Continue your way to Mtskheta, where the main sightseeing is Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (XI c.), which is significant for many things. Most importantly, for Christ’s tunic that is buried under the cathedral, it is also the burial place of Georgian kings and Saint Andrew's holy parts.
Next stop is Jvari monastery (VI c.), standing on the mountain and proudly overlooking the city and conjoining the rivers Mtkvari and Aragvi, thus offering a breathtaking view. The church is built on the site of the first cross in Georgia.
