Discover the Real Caucasus
Hello, my name is Ana Abuashvili, and I have been working in tourism and hospitality since 2015.
Over the years, I have traveled thousands of kilometers across Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, guiding travelers from all over the world through some of the most fascinating places in the Caucasus. What started as a profession quickly became a lifelong passion: discovering the most authentic corners of our region and sharing them with curious travelers who want to experience more than just the standard tourist route.
For me, travel has never been only about visiting famous landmarks. It has always been about people, traditions, stories, and the unique cultures that make every place special.
The Caucasus is one of the most diverse regions in the world. Within just a few hours of driving, you can travel from modern cities filled with contemporary art, architecture, and nightlife to remote mountain villages where life has remained almost unchanged for centuries.
This diversity is what fascinates me the most.
I love introducing our guests to elderly villagers who still live in isolated mountain communities high in the Caucasus. I enjoy sitting with local families in Kakheti who have been producing wine for generations and proudly sharing their traditions with visitors. I am always inspired by the Muslim communities of Adjara, whose culture, architecture, and way of life are completely different yet remain an important part of Georgian identity.
I enjoy exploring Svaneti, where local people continue to preserve their unique languages, traditions, and customs that have survived for centuries. Every visit to Samegrelo feels like a gastronomic discovery for me. The local dishes are not simply delicious — they reflect the character of the people, their pride in their homeland, and the love with which they have preserved their traditions for generations. Sometimes I feel that the true secret of Megrelian cuisine lies not only in its ingredients, but in the heart and soul that local women put into every dish they prepare. At the same time, I love showing visitors the vibrant modern life of Tbilisi and Batumi, where old traditions meet creativity, innovation, and a new generation shaping the future of the region.
One of my greatest interests is discovering traces of the many cultures that have left their mark on the Caucasus throughout history. Whether it is the forgotten German settlements of Georgia, the fascinating story of the Dukhobor villages in Javakheti, ancient caravan routes, Soviet heritage, or medieval kingdoms, every journey reveals another layer of this extraordinary region.
What makes the Caucasus truly remarkable is that such an incredible variety of landscapes, cultures, religions, languages, and traditions can be found within a relatively small area. This is largely because the region has been a crossroads between Europe and Asia for thousands of years. Empires, traders, pilgrims, and travelers have all passed through these lands, creating a cultural mosaic unlike anywhere else in the world.
My goal has always been simple: to help visitors discover the genuine Caucasus and experience the region through the eyes of local people.
How Travel To Georgia Tours Began
In 2019, after years of guiding and exploring the region, I decided to create something of my own.
Together with close friends and family members, I founded Travel To Georgia Tours with the idea of creating meaningful travel experiences that go beyond traditional sightseeing.
Today, our team includes passionate professionals who share the same vision:
Liana Kakhiani – Social Media Coordinator, responsible for sharing our stories and experiences with travelers around the world.
Ketevan Abuashvili – Events and MICE Specialist, managing conferences, incentive travel, corporate events, and complex logistical projects.
Mariam Pakatsoshvili – Public Relations Manager, building partnerships and helping connect our work with correct audiences.
Together, we design experiences that combine local knowledge, professional service, and genuine hospitality.
Our Signature Experiences
Some of our favorite tours were created after years of exploring remote regions, meeting local communities, and searching for stories that are rarely included in traditional itineraries.
Ghosts of Multicultural Tbilisi
This tour explores the forgotten multicultural heritage of Tbilisi and reveals religious monuments, hidden courtyards, and historical sites that today are concealed within ordinary buildings and neighborhoods. It offers a completely different perspective on the capital and its diverse past.
Two Worlds of Georgia – Modern Cities & Authentic Mountain Life
Created to showcase Georgia's incredible diversity, this experience combines the modern life of Tbilisi and Batumi with remote mountain communities. One of its highlights is a visit to one of Georgia's oldest mosques in the isolated mountain village of Beghleti, an experience developed through our own research and local connections.
Georgia Beyond the Ordinary – 21 Days of Remote Hiking, Family Hospitality & Hidden Wonders
This is our most adventurous journey, taking travelers far beyond the usual tourist routes. The tour includes remote mountain villages, family hospitality experiences, the megaliths of Saro in Javakheti, Vashlovani National Park, abandoned Soviet sites, alpine lakes, and some of the most spectacular landscapes in Georgia.
Georgian Christmas Story: 7 Days of Snow, Firelight and Traditions
A unique seasonal experience focused on authentic Georgian Christmas and New Year traditions. The tour visits the rarely explored region of Racha and the homeland of the traditional Georgian Christmas tree, the Chichilaki, offering guests a rare opportunity to experience local holiday customs and winter village life.
These itineraries reflect our approach to travel: combining famous destinations with hidden places, local people, living traditions, and experiences that most visitors never get the chance to discover.
The Classics Matter Too
Of course, we never forget the iconic destinations.
There is a reason why places such as Tbilisi, Mtskheta, Stepantsminda (Kazbegi), Batumi, Baku, and Yerevan are among the most visited locations in the Caucasus.
They represent the historical, cultural, architectural, and spiritual heart of the region.
No visit to the Caucasus would be complete without seeing them.
Our goal is simply to help you experience these famous places in a deeper and more meaningful way, combining the highlights everyone wants to see with authentic local experiences that most visitors miss.
MICE, Events & Special Projects
In addition to private and group tours, we specialize in MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Events) throughout Georgia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan.
