 Day 1 / Batumi City Tour

Arrival at Batumi International Airport. Meeting and greeting at the airport by our guide and other stuff members. Transfer to the prefered hotel in Batumi. Later, sightseeing tour of the Old Batumi. Batumi is the second-largest city in Georgia. It is a perfect place for those who love to spend beautiful summer evenings in front of the seashore and who like greenery and a subtropical climate. The city tour starts with its historical sights, among them the theater of Batumi (XIX c.). The sculpture of Medea with her Golden Fleece from the legend of “Jason and the Argonauts”, Piazza of Batumi is the biggest mosaic in Europe, obtaining an area of 106 sq. m. created in 2010, the Mosque of Batumi (XIX c.) Narrow, cozy streets will take you to the Boulevard of Batumi, which is the longest one in Georgia. 

In the evening return to the hotel and rest. 

 

Day 2 / Petra Fortress Botanical garden and Argo Cable car

Enjoy your breakfast in the hotel and meet your driver and guide at the reception of your hotel. They will take you 20 kilometers away from Batumi, at 440 meters above sea level, in the village of Tsikhisdziri, where with mesmerizing views of the Black Sea, is Petra Fortress. Firstly, there was a small stronghold of Lazi people on the site of the modern Petra Fortress. By decree of the Byzantine Emperor Ioane Strathegos, a village was created in 535 due to its strategic location.The place was called "The City of Justinian" in honor of the emperor. It played a major role in the history of the western Georgia. Spend about an hour in Petra and move to the Botanical Garden afterwards. Batumi Botanical Garden spans 111 hectares on a green Cape. Founded in the 19th century, it amazes its visitors with a rich collection of plants from all over the world. 

Have a nice boat tour for one hour in the sea and enjoy the beautiful views of the city and surroundings. This will be a privately rented boat with a capacity of 50-60 person, its own bar, chaise lounges and places to rest. After the boat tour take a cable car in Batumi, to go to the top of the city and enjoy mesmerizing views of the sunset in Batumi. If there is some time left the guests can enjoy some more sights of the city tour. 

Transfer to the hotel. Overnight! 

 

Day 3 / Gonio Makhuntseti and Khulo

Your first stop on this day will be a fortress from the antique era. It is called Gonio. Nobody knows who really built this fortress, but its early name, Apsarunt, was first mentioned by the Romans. The walls of Apsarunt served as fortifications for many people: Romans, Byzantines, Genoans, and Ottomans. Today, Gonio “serves” as a historical monument, letting us feel the past. After visiting Gonio fortress, let’s go to Makhuntseti Waterfall, located 30 km from Batumi. This is a nice place to visit for those who love nature. The waterfall is 50 meters high, and it attracts many visitors. 

Continue your way deeper into the region, which is called high-mountain Adjara. This is a place with unique culture and history. High-mountainous Adjara was under the Ottoman rule for three centuries and unlike the rest of the country about 90% of the population there are Muslims. Living in a Christian community devoted to Islam and being ethnically Georgian these people created their unique culture and habits that is very interesting to see.  Then time to visit Beghleti mosque which according to the legend was built 300 years ago and is significant for its decorations. On the all way enjoy beautiful views of the mountain villages. Return to Batumi and have a dinner there. Overnight and rest. 

 

Day 4 / Tbilisi Sightseeing Tour

Transfer to Tbilisi, the capital of Georgi and visit its most famous sights. The tour of historical Tbilisi awaits you. Tbilisi is the capital of Georgia, and for every traveler, taking a glimpse of the city is a necessity. During our walking tour, you will see the most important parts of old Tbilisi. You’ll start the tour at Metekhi Cathedral (XIII c.) and Isani neighbourhood, which was a royal residence in the Middle Ages. It’s a perfect place to enjoy magnificent views of the old city. Then you will take a cable car to the mother fortress of Tbilisi. After, we’ll take a walk down to see the Sulfur Bath district and a unique mosque, where Shia and Sunni Muslims pray together, slowly moving on towards Shardeni Street. On the way, you’ll see Sioni Cathedral (XI c.), Anchiskhati Church (VI c.), Gabriadze puppet theater, etc.Metekhi Church, Narikala Fortress, Sulfur Baths. 

Transfer to the hotel and rest. 

 

Day 5 / 

This day is for beautiful Caucasus mountains. Mtskheta is the former capital city of Georgia and your stop on the way. It’s also called Second Jerusalem because of the many Christian relics preserved in the city, including Jesus Christ's tunic. The first stop is Jvari monastery (VI c.), proudly standing on the mountain, overlooking the city and its environs. The Georgian Military Highway will take you towards the Caucasus Mountains. Ananuri fortress (XIV c.). It is built on the conjoining place of two mountain rivers, overlooking the emerald-colored, Jinvali water basin dipped into the mountains. 

Lots of mysterious legends about those towers are still preserved by our ancestors. The road will take you towards the mountains, and on the way to Kazbegi, you will stop in the ski resort of Gudauri, where one can enjoy beautiful views of the mountains or enjoy skiing, snowboarding, or paragliding (depending on the season). After Gudauri, continue to Stepantsminda and Gergeti Trinity Cathedral, standing at 2000 meters above sea level. 

After visiting Gergeti Church, head back to Tbilisi. 

 

Day 6 / Departure 

Hotel check-out with luggage. Transfer to Tbilisi Airport and departure.
